Human Environment Interaction on Day 2

On Day 2 of the Cardigan trip we had an egg, hash brown, fruit, muffin, and sausage breakfast to give us energy for our big hike. After we got dressed for the day and packed our day packs we set off on our adventure up to Fire Screw Mountain then to Cardigan. On our first way point we played a blindfold game and I got lead into tree branches which made me very confused. When we started to hike again a lot of people in our group wanted to be the first ones up to Fire screw so they wanted to pass every other group. At that point Gretchen was making everyone be behind her and they were complaining on going too slow. Our trail snack for the day was cheez-its and trail mix. On our way up we saw so many cool little stream and mini waterfalls falling down the mountain. This is a long term effect for Human Environment Interaction by humans not harming nature so it can live longer. Also AMC helps nature by Preserving the mountain ranges and trails. An example of the environment changing humans is more forests and trees are being cut down or dying from pollution so that changes are behavior around the preserved nature. When we were getting close to the summit we had to climb up wet slick rocks on hands and knees. When we got to the summit of Cardigan to top of the tower was locked but you could climb up the stairs and still get a good view. On our way down the mountain we did some more waypoints. After dinner we had a campfire and did skits about our day like a documentary, “Lights, Camera, Action.” Right before we went in to shower before Mr. Woolner told a story Gretchen told us a story. That night I was so tired but the other people in my bunk had another giggle fest which kept me up until they stopped.
